The national philanthropy of Alpha Phi is women's cardiac care. Alpha Phi supports women's cardiac care through its partnership with the Alpha Phi Foundation, which we raise money and awareness for through multiple philanthropy events we host and cohost on campus. Cardiac Care Week
This fall we held our annual Cardiac Care Week. Over the course of the week we hosted a series of fundraising activities, including a fitness class, our cardiac arrest event on the front lawn, and a fund raising shift at the Goose, a local sandwich shop. Between all the events we hosted during Cardiac Care Week we were able to raise $2,800 for the promotion of women’s heart health through the Alpha Phi Foundation.
Red Dress Gala
Every year our chapter hosts a Red Dress Gala, which is a night of fund raising for women’s heart health that we host at the Blue Grillhouse in Bethlehem. Sisters get to dress up in their favorite red dress and invite friends, family, and alumni to celebrate and raise money for women's heart health. The night consists of a silent auction, a raffle, and an educational segment by a guest speaker about how to maintain a healthy heart. Red Dress Gala is always a fun night and a great way for sisters to include their families in the chapter’s philanthropic activity.
We had another very successful Phiesta Bowl this fall, raising over $2,200 for Alpha Phi Foundation. The Phiesta Bowl is an annual event that our chapter hosts, involving other chapters at Lehigh as well as non-greek members of the student body. Teams that sign up get to participate in a day-long flag football tournament where the winning team gets free tank tops for the members.
